Kauhaneva-Pohjankangas National Park offers unique nature experiences in Northern Satakunta region. Spreading to the areas of Satakunta and South Ostrobothnia, Karvia and Kauhajoki municipalities, the National Park consists of vast marshland, beautiful waterways and fabulous coniferous forests. The rich and impressive nature of Kauhalammi trail provides an opportunity for relaxation and getting away from the daily worries. The trail is great for bird watching.
The trail starts at Salomaa parking area and leads along a forest path to a campfire site. The vast Kauhaneva marsh is crossed on duckboards. Gradually, the landscape becomes more lush. By the water, in the middle of stunning scenery, there are two picnic areas where there is also a possibility for swimming. The final part of the route runs in the woods, where instead of duckboards you walk on forest paths as well as Kyrönkangas dirt road. You may choose to deviate from the path to a nature observation tower at Numminkangas, a short distance away. It is also possible to walk the trail in the opposite direction.

At the swamp, you may also come across red-throated divers, black-throated divers, golden plovers and redshanks. In addition to bird watching, you can also angle on the route. The trail is easy to walk, but due to the narrow duckboards it is not wheelchair accessible. At the beginning of the route, at Salomaa, there is a fire place next to which is an ecological toilet that can be freely used. Next to the campfire site you can also find a water point. Note, however, that the water should be boiled before drinking. In addition, there is a campsite for hikers in Salomaa. In late summer, you can enjoy the gifts of nature in the area by picking berries or
Most of the trail passes through easy terrain, but the duckboards are narrow. The final part of the trail is forest paths, and there are roots and rocks on the path. However, the most part of the route is easy to walk and the paths are relatively wide.
